Numbers Discussion V3

Yes and Xbox is MS so.
Xbox is part of MS yes as is Activision now but if someone wants to pretend it makes sense to spend nearly $70 billion just to make your quarterly reports look better that's up to them. There is a bigger picture goal obviously but his tweet was as stupid as he is.

Yes. It makes sense to purchase a company with an IP that prints money every year.
Still not sure why you think Activision input should be ignored from the financial results.
Other than it helps paint a super negative on the Xbox brand.

No it just shows that xbox itself isn't healthy, hardware sales down 31% and all other metrics would have been down or at nearly zero growth plus they are expecting hardware sales to drop even more. The hardware sales do matter, I know some people want to pretend they don't but without the hardware there is no xbox there is just a giant and very expensive to maintain gaming division that needs to release more titles on other hardware.

So basically that 50m means nothing in the end if the active accounts number is half of that.

Where did you get that conclusion ? Are you saying that there's only 25 million MAU's for the PS5?

Who said 25m? But you are acting like them only selling 50m+ is a reason certain games aren't selling/meeting expectations.
Maybe they just aren't as popular as you want to make out? Or maybe making those games exclusive to PS wasn't the best choice.

But yes, I doubt all those units sold are active.

Oh you said half that so I assumed 25.

Well many people act as if selling only on the one platform was not good enough but reality shows different because otherwise they wouldn't be making these exclusivity deals in the first place if the numbers didn't make sense.

Great sales all around for rebirth, dogma and ronin.

-Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth currently ranks 14th across all Final Fantasy releases in lifetime dollar sales in the US market. Final Fantasy XV is 1st all-time, followed by Final Fantasy VII: Remake and the original Final Fantasy VII
-Helldivers II remains the best-selling premium game of 2024 year-to-date after placing 2nd in March. Helldivers II currently ranks 7th in lifetime US dollar sales for Sony published titles after just two months in market.
-The PlayStation Dual Sense Edge was the best-selling accessory in dollar sales during both March and the first quarter.
-PlayStation 5 led the hardware market in unit and dollar sales during both March and the first quarter. Nintendo Switch once again finished 2nd in unit sales across both time periods while Xbox Series ranked 2nd in dollars.
-February video game hardware spending fell 32% when compared to a year ago, to $391 million. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch spending each declined a minimum of 30% year-on-year. Hardware spending finished the first quarter down 24% versus the first quarter of 2023.
