Random Gaming News V3

Been known for a while that games now days have a low completion rate.

Trueachievements/Trophies often show that as well despite being sites dedicated to gamers who want to unlock them all.

Studios would be wise to not try and drag out every game over 40 odd hours.

PlayStation games have some of the highest completion rates out there due to the fact people mostly buy the titles and have a higher moral obligation to finish them as a result

In surprised there aren’t many more older games on the list.

Seems to be only new games are just 30 percent, and that’s at the bottom of their list at 14.

I doubt it’s a morality thing, most of those games are released with not much competition and or have a gap in between them and whatever the next “it” game may be. Some, like ff7 remake/spiderman/tlou, were free on ps+. Spider-Man 2 is impressive with just over three million finishing it.

I wonder what the numbers are when comparing older non exclusive games like final fantasy 15 compare.

Could the last of us series have had a bump in completion percentage due to all the rereleases and show?

I’ll be honest, of all the games there only finished ratchet and clank, and the one with the story/world that interest me the most is horizon, and I’ve yet to finish that 😆 I think the last game I’ve finished was hifi rush cos music/nostalgia, but I’d get upset at certain points cos I got no rhythm and couldn’t get past certain parts lol

If I buy a game, I feel more obligated to finish it for some reason lol. So I usually beat them , whereas I find with PS plus and Gamepass I don't care as much for some odd reason. Maybe because I can resell more quickly.

I think I’ve beaten more games that are on ps or game pass, mainly cos they eventually go away because publisher deal or I forget to renew. But if I like it I’ll just buy it. I’ve bought humanity, cocoon; inside, etc… oh but if it’s a game I’m really looking forward to and it has a cool physical release I’ll buy it and then just download the game pass or ps+ version cos lqzyness. I still got the ce for the latest gow with the hammer and all, but I still bought it digitally.

So you like them plastic wrapped still? You a low-key collector

How many people actually finish games though? Like I haven’t finished botw, and the last of us 2 😆 doubt I’ll ever finish Starfield, like oblivion, cos side quest
The vast majority of gamers don’t.

I wont open it until I have a spot to place them in 😆 I need to rearrange my room and get a new display case or shelves or both 😆 but also got some other plans in development…oh, but yes, many games are still in their boxes, some are still in their delivery packages.

I try, but when a game like botw or Starfield give me a list of options like “exploration” then I lose myself in that aw of wonder. I’m like a lil kid and easily distracted. My partner prefers that I just listen to get in the car cos I’ll miss an exit half an hour ago cos engagement, curiosity or distraction, like when I saw a cyber truck on the freeway and I missed the exit cos I wanted to bask in its low poly refrigerated glory

Someone should tell Ubisoft or any of the AAA studios....making super long games with boring copy paste fillers

I think people are finally starting to see HOW badly managed Square Enix actually is. If it were not for the strength of their legacy IP, I'm certain they would have folded or been hostile/unwanted take over.

Yeah I rather stable higher fps performance than have RT on tbh.

It's one of those things I checked out once this gen but yeah if the game gives you the option to switch it off for better performance it's an easy pick.
